Update of National Infrastructure Protection Plan

The NIPP was originally released in 2006 and revised in 2009. PPD 21 called for an update to the NIPP, which was released in 2013.

The updated plan was developed through a collaborative process involving stakeholders from all 16 critical infrastructure sectors, all 50 states, and from all levels of government and industry.

The 2013 version of the NIPP has a greater focus on integrating cyber and physical security efforts. To this end, the 2013 version also has a greater focus on information sharing and collaboration between the Federal government and critical infrastructure owners and operators.
